Baime Hydropower set to be commissioned, PNG

The Baime Hydropower Project in Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea is scheduled for commissioning by March 2023. With total installed capacity of 11.6 MW, the plant will be able to produce 81 GWh of hydroelectric energy annually.

SMEC to supervise upgrade of Base-Butaro-Kidaho road, Rwanda

SMEC has been appointed by the Rwanda Transport Development Agency to provide consulting services for the supervision of upgrading works of Base-Butaro-Kidaho road. This 63km upgrade is in line with the Government of Rwanda’s national strategy for transformation, which focuses on development of infrastructure. As part of this, roads have been identified as a priority.
