Manila, NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project set to open

SMEC carried out the detailed engineering design services for the project, harmonizing the design and construction methodology with the adjacent North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), another major infrastructure undertaking in the Philippines. The two projects will be built on the shared corridor of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) right of way.

Restoring livelihoods and landscapes through improved watershed capacity, Malawi

SMEC Malawi has been appointed by the Ministry of Forestry and Natural Resources in Malawi to carry out the “Consulting services for feasibility study, preliminary engineering design, detailed engineering design and construction supervision of small and medium sized multipurpose dams including establishment of community based operational and maintenance institutional arrangements.”

SMEC designs Zanzibar’s first double carriage flyovers

SMEC is collaborating with the Contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), to undertake the design and build of over 100 km of priority roads in Zanzibar’s main urban centre, known as the Rehabilitation and Improvement of Urban Roads Project. CCECC developed the Concept Designs and has appointed SMEC as their design engineer.

President Joko Widodo inaugurates Cibitung – Cilincing toll road, Indonesia

SMEC is honoured to have participated as construction supervisory consultant on Sections 1 to 3 of the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road. The road is one of the Indonesian Government’s priority projects and was recently inaugurated recently by President Joko Widodo. SMEC collaborated on the project with PT Virama Karya.

SMEC South Africa commences infrastructure upgrades for landmark urban development

Our South Africa team is thrilled to be appointed to oversee the upgrade of Kassier Road, a critical piece of infrastructure that will enable the development of Westown, Shongweni. Located in KwaZulu-Natal province, Westown is envisaged as a new economic hub for the outer-west region. The vibrant mixed-use precinct is anticipated to generate some R15-billion in new investment over the next 10 years.
