SMEC in Georgia
SMEC’s experience in Georgia began with our first project, the Tbilisi Water Supply and Sanitation Immediate Investment Program in 1999.
As of 2017, we have established a permanent office in the capital city of Tbilisi, specialising in delivering expertise to a number of sectors including roads and highways, bridges and tunnels.
SMEC has been working closely with the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia on various projects. We have been engaged for technical supervision on the Batumi Bypass Road Project, construction supervision of the E-60 Highway Shorapani-Argveta (F4) Section highway project, and technical assistance on the Georgia Transport Connectivity Project. SMEC has also completed detailed design of the access road and railway for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port Development Project.
SMEC has a strong reputation in Georgia as a specialist in infrastructure projects, particularly in the transportation sector. We are pleased to be bringing global expertise to a range of projects that have significant economic and social impact for the country.
