Since joining SMEC in 2018 as the National Manager, Urban Renewal, Kate has led the growth and diversification of SMEC’s Australian Urban Renewal business. Kate has more than 25 years of industry experience and has held several senior leadership roles. She was recently appointed as Director on the Board of Consult Australia.
Kate is excited to lead a diverse, talented team of over 250 specialists across the country. “We have an exceptional team of planners, urban designers, landscape architects, engineers, surveyors and technical specialists, who have helped to design and deliver some of the largest and most high-profile urban developments across Australia,” she said.

Habibie Razak, Regional Manager for SMEC Indonesia, recently presented SMEC’s expertise on quantity surveying to the 2023 ASEAN Quantity Surveying Association (AQSA) Congress. The event was held in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia on 16-17 May 2023. The theme of this year’s congress was “Envisioning Sustainability and Digitalisation in ASEAN Construction Industry”.
Specialists from SMEC’s Water Resources team will deliver technical presentations at the 2023 Floodplain Management Australia National Conference in Sydney. The annual event has been hosted by the FMA for over 50 years, and is the most esteemed flood risk management forum of its kind in Australia.
