Three years of efforts by SMEC
To overcome the challenges faced by the client SMEC used their specialist team to develop viable and practical solutions to manage difficult water-sensitive urban design complexities. Solutions presented to Lendlease represented three years of detailed design, planning, survey, and construction efforts by SMEC. Solutions included the completion of the arterial road/bridges over the future Lollypop Creek and wetlands, with this being one of the most significant infrastructure assets delivered on this project.
Water-sensitive urban design measurements are practiced throughout the estate. Therefore, SMEC has implemented a comprehensive stormwater management strategy to deliver a complex system of waterways, wetland treatment areas, and open water, whilst also catering for the 1 in 100 years break-out flood from the nearby Werribee River.
Beneficial community-wide outcomes
SMEC has made significant impacts during the development of the master-planned community. SMEC provided civil engineering, survey, PM2 electrical, and urban design services for the development of Harpley, which has led to beneficial community-wide outcomes on the project. SMEC’s Urban Design team provided annual yield assessment services, as well as management of building envelope plans and signage plans.
