Atiamuri Operating and Maintenance System Review
SMEC conducted a review on clients Mighty River Power nine hydropower stations and five geothermal power stations, ensuring their processes and systems were being maintained to meet important safety guidelines and continue successfully operating into the future.

Mighty Power River Ltd operates nine hydropower stations on the Waikato River and five geothermal power stations in the Central North Island to produce electricity from renewable sources.

 

As a part of the company’s dam safety assurance program an independent Operation and Maintenance (O&M) review is conducted at each of the dams every five years.

 

The O&M Review is conducted prior to CSR testing and includes the review of all existing processes and procedures to confirm compliance to the New Zealand Society on Large Dams (NZSOLD) guidelines.

Ensuring all processes and systems are maintained

SMEC conducted a review at the Mighty River Power’s Arapuni operating facilities. This was to ensure all processes and systems are being maintained and monitored to the NZSOLD Dam Safety Guidelines.

SMEC’s services also included: O&M manual review, job plan and work order review (including Maximo system), document safekeeping review, operator training/proficiency review and reporting.

 

Facilitating renewable power into the future

SMEC worked with client Mighty River Power, conducting a review to ensure their nine hydropower stations and five geothermal power stations processes and systems were being maintained and monitored to meet the NZSOLD Dam Safety Guidelines. This review ensured all stations will continue safely and successfully operating and facilitating power to the community way into the future.
