Preschool
The Las Araucarias Preschool is operated by the Government of Chile’s National Board of Kindergartens, an agency dedicated to the education and protection of children in preschools throughout Chile.
Las Araucarias provides early childhood education and development support for more than 100 underprivileged children (aged between two and four years) from the Huechuraba commune, an impoverished area in the Santiago province. SMEC has supported the Las Araucarias Preschool since 2012, and in 2014 donated $2,900 for the purchase of educational materials and cleaning equipment at the Preschool. SMEC also provided support in hosting a range of family and community performance events.
