Rail
Our
expertise
SMEC has completed globally acclaimed light rail projects, transforming suburban connectivity in various cities including Canberra, The Gold Coast and Palembang. Through the delivery of these projects, SMEC has developed the experience, tools and people to deliver all specialist engineering services related to the introduction of light rail and service automation. This includes track and alignment design, as well as the design of supporting civil infrastructure.
We also offer electrification design, construction supervision and project management expertise. Services extend to systems design and maintenance with capabilities in AC and DC traction power with Overhead Contact Systems, LV, MV and HV electrical services for light rail infrastructure.
