Ranked in the top 2% of universities globally, UCT houses a multicultural community of around 5,000 academic, professional, administrative and service staff, as well as some 29,000 students who come from over 100 countries.

Northern Collector Tunnel, Kenya
The Northern Collector Tunnel is a critical infrastructure project to improve water supply to Nairobi and surrounding areas. The World Bank-funded project comprised Kenya’s longest tunnel, designed to harvest flood water flows from three rivers in Murang’a County into the existing water supply infrastructure at Ndakaini dam, the main water source for Kenya’s Capital, Nairobi. Prior to the project, the estimated water deficit in Nairobi City was 125,000m3/day.
